The Small Business Administration has released an updated HUBZone Map

July 1, 2023

As of July 1, 2023, the Small Business Administration (SBA) has released an updated version of their Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) map. A HUBZone is a specific geographic area that’s identified by the SBA as economically distressed and underutilized by businesses. In 2017, the SBA froze the previous HUBZone map due to delayed results of the 2020 Census because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The new map reflects the 2020 Census and other economic and population data. Businesses that were HUBZone certified that aren’t eligible as of July 1, 2023 because of the map changes can still participate in the HUBZone program through their annual recertification. While some changes have been made, the SBA remains dedicated to assisting HUBZone businesses during the transition.

HTI is a HUBZone business that works to bridge the digital divide in these underserved areas. Check out the new map here.

Raleigh Dream Center is a Christian-based, volunteer driven organization providing residential and community outreach programs to homeless, abused and impoverished high risk youth, individuals and families. They partner with local churches to consistently provide resources to under-privileged communities and reach out to those individuals in substance abuse, physical abuse, experiencing homelessness, participating in gangs, or other circumstances. We presented ten HTI Chromebooks to Raleigh Dream Center in October of 2022.
